What can I do to relieve the pain from my sunburn?

relieve back pain
swimmer asked:

Thursday afternoon I was out in the sun for several hours and I only applied sunscreen once and I now have a severe sunburn. My back and shoulders are very red, have blisters, and are extremely painful. I have tried aloe vera with lidocaine, cool baths, and cool cloths. I have been taking Advil but the pain is still killing me and the weeping from the blisters keeps making my back stick to my clothes. What else can I do?

Applying lavender essential oil to the area will reduce pain and itching. Check out for more details.
